Mario Bumbaca - President
Mario Bumbaca is the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Radisson Hotel Chicago O’Hare. A native of Chicago, Mario graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts. In his early career, he worked at WMAQ – NBC TV on the Today In Chicago show. He has been working in the hotel industry since 1985 in a variety of managerial positions and locations for various hotel brands and companies as a Director of Sales, General Manager, and as a Regional Director of Sales and Marketing. He is also very active with a number of local business associations, networking events and is Chair of the Technology/Website Committee and also serves on the Events Committee.
Eric Conley - Vice President
Eric L. Conley is the Vice President of Operations of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mr. Conley has full P&L responsibility for Surgical Services, Non-Invasive, Invasive cardiology services, Cardiovascular Surgery and the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, Rehabilitation Services including Pt, OT Speech and Respiratory Therapy, the Gastroenterology Suites as well as partnering with other senior leadership on a major construction project (925,000 square ft. Outpatient Care Center)Prior to Northwestern Memorial Hospital Eric held Senior Leadership positions at Doctor’s Community Hospital, and Franklin Square Hospital; a part of the seven hospital MedStar Health System in the Maryland Washington DC area. Eric has also held leadership positions with the Duke University Health System, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Eric’s management experience has included a broad range of clinical and support functions including physician practice management and Resident Clinic Operations.
Steve Craig - Treasurer
Steve has been employed at North Bank since June, 2000 as an Assistant Vice President. His primary duties include originating and closing of commercial and consumer loans, and loan portofolio servicing of existing accounts. Mr. Craig also serves as the bank's Compliance and CRA Officer in charge of ensuring the bank's compliance with state and federal laws. He has been in banking since 1993 and has worked at two other banks before coming to North Bank. Mr. Craig is a member of the Illinois Bar and graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1991. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign in 1987.
Jim Tyll - Secretary
Jim Tyll has been owner and operator of Press, Type and Copy, a Streeterville area quickprint / copy shop, since 1982. Before that Jim was involved in the franchise quickprinting business. Jim and wife Marilyn, a Chicago Public School music teacher have 2 wonderful children. Jim has been an active Chamber member since 1988.Vince J. Gavin- Board Member Vince Gavin is Director of Government and Special Operations at Navy Pier, a position that he has held since June 2007. A native of Chicago, Vince graduated from Loyola University with a degree in Marketing & Accounting. He spent many years working for the City of Chicago, first in Law Enforcement and then as Deputy Liquor Commissioner. Vince is also Co-Executor of the Rubloff Trust in Chicago.
Jamie Haberkorn - Board Member
After receiving her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, Jamie joined Leo Burnett and subsequently earned her Master's from the Medill School of Journalism. Jamie spent more than 23 years at Burnett, responsible for developing advertising strategies for a number of Fortune 500 companies, including McDonald's. It was at that time Jamie developed a passion for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.Jamie joined the charity in 2009 and is working to engage Chicagoans in the development of the new Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children's. Set to open in 2012, the House will be the world's largest, providing a "home-away-from-home" for 86 families every night. At 211 East Grand Avenue, the House will offer families care and comfort including a private room, home-cooked meal and emotional support network - just blocks from where their child is receiving treatment at Lurie Children's or the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
Norman Light - Board Member
Norman Light is a practicing attorney in the City of Chicago and has been one for a longer time than he would like to admit. His practice consists of Real Estate, Corporate and Labor-Management law. He has served as Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Contracts Sub-Committee of the Real Estate Section, and has been involved in numerous legal and charitable organizations.
Birgit Radin - Board Member
For over 20 years, Birgit Radin has focused her energy and talents on leading quality-oriented hospitality teams with the goal of creating employee engagement, memorable customer experiences, and maximizing profit for shareholders and/or owners. As a member of the Kokua Hospitality, LLC management organization team, she serves as the managing director for two properties in Chicago, The Doubletree by Hilton Chicago-Magnificent Mile and the Inn of Chicago.She earned a certified hotel business and management degree from the Hotel Business and Management School in Villingen, Germany, and has since worked in key management roles on three continents, led several transition teams throughout her career.
Herb Ritchell - Board Member
Herb is an educator and marketing communications consultant. He is director of the Advertising & Public Relations program at Loyola University’s School of Communication at the Water Tower campus. He also directs their internship program. A native Chicagoan, he previously held senior leadership positions with Edelman Public Relations, Navistar, Ogilvy & Mather, and First Chicago. He’s directed advertising & public relations programs for a variety of organizations including Motorola, Apple, General Motors, Chicago Tribune and the Boy Scouts of America. Herb is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Urbana and Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
